Subaru has awarded US Sydney, the Razor Group-owned creative agency, two retail projects.

The appointment was made without a pitch last month, with Subaru's first work set to emerge in January after it was handed a retail brief to work on. The appointment to work on the retail briefs does not come with a place on the Subaru roster.

Leo Burnett Sydney's place on the Subaru roster is unaffected by the appoinment, while Starcom MediaVest remains the car maker's media agency.

In August, Subaru Australia appointed Lexus Australia group marketing manager Andrew Caie as general manager of marketing. According to Nielsen, Subaru spent a shade under $30 million on main media advertising in the 12 months to May.
