Iconic sports commentary duo Roy and H.G. will join Macquarie Sports Radio to cover the ICC Cricket World Cup from Saturday 1 June.

Just Short of a Length with Roy and H.G. will cover "every snick and flick" of the event with Macquarie Sports Radio holding exclusive broadcast coverage of the sporting tournament over 45 days.

The show will air between 10am and 12pm AEST each Saturday, coinciding with the tournament which runs from 30 May to 14 July.

Macquarie Media CEO Adam Lang says the network welcomed the duo to its "family".

"Their passion for sport and the irreverent nature in which they present are a perfect fit for a radio station dedicated to delivering more laughs and more live sport than ever before," Lang says.

"This is a big win for our audience, our clients and ourselves."

The duo have previously hosted shows on Triple J, Triple M, ABC, Seven and Network Ten where they presented the 2014 winter Olympics.

Last year, Macquarie Media secured a six-year radio broadcast deal with Cricket Australia, allowing its commercial am station to air coverage across all of men’s international, women’s international and men’s BBL matches.
