Full-service agency Spinach has been appointed to manage strategic planning and creative for Australia’s largest golf retailer, Drummond Golf.

The golf retailer, which has 48 stores nationwide, recently announced it would be merchandising partner for the 2019 Presidents Cup which will be held at the Royal Melbourne Golf Club in December.

Drummond Golf marketing director Ravi Abeyaratne says that the brand is looking forward to Spinach helping it with the "massive" year it has ahead of them.

"I met this team when we went to pitch in 2016 and was suitably impressed with their depth – albeit, we made another choice at the time," Drummond Golf marketing director Ravi Abeyaratne says.

"I’m very much looking forward to what will be an important year for both our brand and the sport.”

The new appointment comes not long after the retailer released its first brand campaign via J. Walter Thompson Melbourne (now Wunderman Thompson).

“We’re excited to have the opportunity to work on what is one of the country’s great retail brands at an immensely exciting time for the Drummond Golf business,” Spinach general manager Ben Willee says.

The appointment follows a series of wins for Spinach which recently picked up full-service duties for Jalna Dairy and the Coles Liquorland account.
