Southern Cross Austereo (SCA) has purchased Carnarvon Communications in Western Australia.

The acquisition was made for an undisclosed sum and completes the company’s radio coverage in the state, giving it two additional stations; Classic Hits 666 and Hot Hits 997.

It comes after SCA purchased Redwave Media radio stations from Seven West Media, which were recently rebranded to the Triple M and Hit brands.

“Carnarvon Communications, like Redwave, was a logical acquisition for SCA to extend our radio coverage of Western Australia,” says CEO Grant Blackley.

“With Australia’s largest radio network, SCA is continuing to invest in audio and these two stations add to our reach and connection with local communities.”

SCA, which previously represented Carnarvon for national sales, will rebrand the stations, with Classic Hits 666 becoming Triple M and Hot Hits 997 becoming Hit 997.
