The ANZ bank has appointed Sian Chadwick chief marketing officer, adding enterprise-wide marketing accountability to her existing role as general manager marketing, Australia Retail.
The appointment follows Astrud Burgess stepping down from the CMO role after three years to focus on her position as managing director customer propositions, New Zealand.
The bank currently has its media account out to pitch.
Chadwick's remit covers brand strategy and identity, marketing effectiveness, governance of marketing investment and coordination of marketing activity across the group.
Pedro Rodeia, ANZ group executive, Australia Retail, said Chadwick was a highly respected marketing leader with deep expertise across brand, customer engagement and transformation.
"We are delighted to appoint her as ANZ's chief marketing officer and look forward to her leadership as we continue to strengthen our marketing effectiveness and customer focus," he said.
Chadwick said she was excited to build on the foundations established by Burgess and the team.
"We have a strong brand, talented teams, and a clear opportunity to deepen customer relationships through our marketing," she said.
Rodeia acknowledged Burgess for her contribution, noting she had led the rollout of ANZ's new brand identity and championed marketing's role as a strategic driver of customer and business growth.
