Seven Network has bolstered the development and distribution of its programming content with the appointment of Richard Henson to the newly created role of head of content sales.

In his new role Henson will manage the sales and distribution arrangements of Seven's content rights.

Henson joins from a role at Discovery Networks International as APAC regional director, program sales and consumer products.

He has also held a number of sales, strategy and communications roles within the Australian landscape at companies such as Nickelodeon, MCN, OMD and UM.

Henson will report to director of content distribution Therese Hegarty in his new role.

“I am delighted that we have secured someone of Richard’s calibre to join our team," Hegarty said.

"As both our content catalogue and the aligned revenue streams grow we need the right people in place to maximise opportunities - and we are hugely excited that Richard is coming on board to do just that."
