R/GA Australia has appointed Kieran Antill to the role of executive creative director.

He will lead the agency’s multidisciplinary teams across Sydney and Melbourne.

Antill says he joined the agency for its values and innovation.

"They are optimistic about the future, passionate about having a positive impact and focused on family and what that means for the next generation – all that really resonated with me. I’m excited to get started," Antill says.

Antill’s background spans a number of leadership roles including leading creative teams at Leo Burnett New York as managing partner and ECD and at JWT Melbourne where he was ECD.

He also held the role of creative director of Tennis Australia for the 2019 Australian Open.

Antill is also co-founder of several companies, two of which he continues to be involved with as board advisor: Ne-Lo, a customer experience (CX) and employee experience (EX) specialist company, and Timebirds, a fitness-tech company.

“Over his career, Kieran has demonstrated an amazing ability to apply a breadth of creative thinking to communications, products & services and consultancy,” R/GA Australia VP and managing director Michael Titshall says.

“His appointment is reflective of our ambition to help clients extract greater results by applying creativity more holistically to their business."

Antill has previously been ranked as the number one art director worldwide at the Cannes Lions Festival and number three in the World on the Gunn report – later acknowledged by the Australian government publication ‘Australia Unlimited’ as one of Australia’s top creative exports.

“Kieran combines a rare mix of skills, with a real passion for collaboration and driving work that challenges conventions," R/GA Asia Pacific VP chief creative officer Seamus Higgins says.

"We’re incredibly excited to have him join us in our mission to expand the edge of possibility for our people, our clients, and our industry.”

Antill replaces Craig Brooks who recently departed R/GA alongside executive strategy director Joel Pearson to launch strategic brand and creative studio Not Bad ϟ Pretty Good.

Antill joins other recent hires including former Interbrand ECD Ben Miles who joined the company’s consulting practice, Business Transformation, as its new ECD for APAC and Ciaran Park who joined as executive technical director.
