Optus has made changes to its marketing team that sees current marketing director Ben White promoted to managing director of business and wholesale, while Matt Williams joins to take on the marketing role.

White has been with the telco since 2006 and led teams across consumer, wholesale and strategy, before before stepping into the role of managing director of marketing and product in 2016.

In his new role, White leads the small business and Optus wholesale and satellite teams to bring a renewed focus to the areas, which the company sees as facing increasing competition.

As part of the changes, marketing is now merged with revenue and data analytics, which Williams heads up as managing director of marketing and revenue.

Before joining Optus, Williams was consumer business unit director at Vodafone in New Zealand. In his 20 years’ experience, Williams has also worked across the UK and Greece.

In his new role, Williams overseas revenue focused activities around brand and marketing, product management, customer value and data analytics, devices and hardware, and related operations.

The new appointments at Optus come just weeks after Seven’s Clive Dickens departed to take on the role of VP of TV, content and production development at the telco.
