Media agency OMD Sydney has appointed Marelle Salib to the newly created position of head of trading.

The creation of this role sees Salib promoted from her previous role of screen trading lead.

In her new role Salib will lead the 30 strong Sydney trading team, and work closely with national head of trading Melissa Hey, and head of off-screen trading Jo Dick, to oversee trading negotiations across the OMD Sydney client base.

Salib joined OMD in 2011 and has to date been leading screen trading across the key OMD Telstra and McDonald’s. She has also been responsible for developing key trading processes which have been rolled out across the agency.

Hey says: “At the forefront of testing new technologies, Marelle has been a key driver in developing our programmatic TV buying. Placing Marelle in this pivitol role will bolster our senior trading team, ensuring that OMD is well positioned to continue providing our clients with an integral team of experts that can focus on client accountability and media relationships.”

Salib will report into Hey, and her appointment is effective immediately.
