The New Zealand Government is refreshing its All-of-Government Creative and Media Services, including adding new services to the remit.
Government Procurement is running the refresh as a continuation of the existing contract rather than a full rewrite, with cultural competency and social media services being added to the panel's scope.
Meanwhile, videography and photography will now sit under a broadened content production category alongside copywriting, animation and website design.
Artificial intelligence related services remain outside the contract, along with media buying, consultancy, external print, website builds and media monitoring services, which are covered elsewhere under separate AoG arrangements.
More than 250 providers, from sole traders to large agencies, sit on the panel across five categories: content production, creative services, media strategy, cultural competency and social media services.
Providers can subcontract to other panel members, though agencies must approve any subcontracted work.
Government Procurement said the refresh is designed to bring more locally based creative businesses onto the panel, giving government communications and marketing teams easier access to providers with strong ties to their communities.
The CMS panel first launched in 2024, combining the government's previously separate Design Services and Advertising Services contracts into a single panel.
That merger ended a system that had run since 2013, when the two accounts were awarded separately to a combined panel of around 220 providers.
The current CMS contract runs to June 30, 2028, with two further two-year renewal options available.
