Nissan and Whybin\TBWA take top gong in Glossy Awards

Nissan and Whybin\TBWA Group Melbourne have taken the Grand Prix in the 2014 Glossy Awards for the series of print ads for the Nissan GT-R.

Nissan's 'Speedometer' ads used visual cues including a music score, snippets of verse and a hurried signature to show how quickly the GT-R accelerates from 0 to 100 kpm.

The Grand Prix was judged by an AdNews panel, as was the category the Nissan ads appeared in. The judges for the other categories in the Glossy Awards were Dave Bowman and Matty Burton.

The Glossy Awards are sponsored by NewsLifeMedia, Pacific Magazines, Bauer Media and AdStream.

Other winners included M&C Saatchi for Baiada, VML Australia's ads for Australian Federal police Missing person pre rolls, and Clemenger BBDO's tinder themed work for Hungry Jack's. All the winning agencies win points that count towards the AdNews Agency Rankings. Round two of the 2014 rankings will appear in the next print edition of AdNews, out 28 November.
