Slingshot brings in former Carat digital head

Slingshot has hired Chris Johnston, Carat's former head of digital and direct for Woolworths, as its head of digital and data.

As the independent media agency continues to invest in its data product, Johnston will work alongside Slingshot's data expert Stuart Dennon.

Prior to Carat, Johnston was general manager at McCann Erickson, where he held responsibility for key accounts including MasterCard, Michael Hill Jeweller, Xbox and Intel, and group account director at Clemenger BBDO Sydney.

Quantcast adds two senior hires

Quantcast Australia and New Zealand has added two new senior staff to its roster, growing its employee ranks from one to 15 over the past year.

The advertising data and analytics firm, which opened in Sydney last October, has added Scott Kirkland as head of client sales, and Steve West joined as agency sales director.

Kirkland had previously served as Fairfax Media's group sales manager, while West had worked as general manager at Digital Network sales (DNS) and group sales manager at Ninemsn. Further senior hires are expected in 2016, said the company.

Publicis Groupe agencies staff rewarded with shares

Publicis Group is set to reward staff at its agencies across 16 countries control over shares worth $AUD4,179 next month.

An award of 50 shares to each employee on December 2011 as part of a four year incentive scheme will vest next month for 4,000 staff who have been continuously employed, reported Campaign Live.

Staff at agencies including Starcom MediaVest and Saatchi and Saatchi will all become shareholders in the company for the first time.

Xaxis goes live in New Zealand

GroupM's programmatic business, Xaxis has expanded its operations into New Zealand, providing marketers across the Tasman with the full suite of Xaxis’ audience buying solutions.

In the past three years, Xaxis has expanded regional coverage to 18 offices across 14 markets including Australia, China, Hong Kong, India, Japan, Indonesia, Malaysia, Philippines, Singapore, South Korea, Taiwan, Thailand and Vietnam.

Xaxis Australia managing director Esther Carlsen will also oversee the new presence in New Zealand.
