APN Outdoor makes a case for summer advertising

Despite popular belief, people's habits do not change dramatically over summer, with 59% of people's commutes remaining the same and 34% of people commuting for longer, according to reserach from APN Outdoor.

The research, from the company's community panel, The Outsiders, aims to investigate what Australians get up to in the summer months and to find out how that impacts out of home (OOH) advertising.

APN Outdoor general manager, sales Mark Fairhurst said: “I’ve seen a lot of Outdoor Summer presentations in my time and this is by far the best. We have used our community panel to tap into the habits and opinions of everyday Australians and have come up with a simple, digestible and above all, useful snapshot of what summer means to consumers.

“The message is simple: summer, especially in Australia’s key cities, is the season to be outdoor. With 71% of people saying that they are more receptive to outdoor ads in summer, spending less time with other mediums, it’s a great time to reach this larger audience who are in a positive mindset and more likely to be out and about.”

Loud&Clear appoint GM

Melbourne digital agency Loud&Clear has appointed Fiona Wilhelm to the newly created role of general manager.

Wilhelm has held roles at companies including JWT London, Tag Worldwide and Saatchi & Saatchi. She was also the interim GM at Huckleberry earlier this year.

Loud&Clear managing director Cade Witnish said, “Fiona's appointment marks the next phase of growth for our company as we move to a more sophisticated client services offering. Loud&Clear has achieved some great recognition and client wins in the last 12 months".

Clems Melbourne appoints new group account director

Clemenger BBDO Melbourne has promoted Harriet Sinclair to the role of group account director.

Sinclair has been with the agency since last year and will continue with her responsibilities on the NAB business as well as take over the management of the Mercedes-Benz account in her new role.

Clemenger BBDO Melbourne MD Paul McMillan said: "Promoting from within is the strategy we favour. Our clients have consistency and it's our way of keeping an unfair share of the best talent out there."
