Movers and Shakers: Quantcast poaches and IAG's new marketer

Adland is full of big moves at the moment. Here are the hires, promotions and exits of the week:

Ad tech firm poaches PHD director and REA exec

Advertising technology company Quantcast has recruited PHD's former head of digital Peter Hunter as commercial director - among a slew of senior hires. AdMaxim’s Chris Greenwood joins as group agency director and REA Group’s Darren Morton joins the Melbourne office. Read more here.

NRL marketing lead heads to IAG

The NRL's head of marketing, digital and content, Lewis Pullen, has taken up a marketing role with IAG working on its new Challenger brand. Pullen's remit is to oversee the marketing for Challenger, which has been created by IAG to take on new entrants and disruptors in the insurance market. He will also work across marketing and branding for the IAG SGIO, SGIC, Berkshire Hathaway brands, as well as IAG’s partnership with Coles Insurance. Read more here.

Bashful hires former Whybin creative

Creative agency Bashful has won the business for MailPlus and Kennards Hire, along with hiring former Whybin\TBWA creative Tim Chenery. Bashful has hired Chenery to be a new creative director for the agency. He previously worked at agencies including Whybin\TBWA and Leo Burnett with clients including Nike, SBS, TAB and Gatorade. Banjo hires creative veteran Bruce Matchett

Banjo has brought on creative veteran Bruce Matchett to join the agency as a partner and executive creative director, as the agency adds new clients Ausgrid and Destination NSW. Matchett returned to Australia earlier this year from Singapore, where he was creative head of SapientNitro.

Archibald / Williams hires first head of strategy

Archibald / Williams will bolster its strategic offering with the appointment of Mary Perebzak as the agency’s head of strategy. Previously Perebzak was head of strategy at Isobar Australia, working with clients including David Jones and Stockland. She also held roles at M&C Saatchi and Diageo.
