It's hard to keep up with all the latest moves across media, marketing and advertising, so we've made a list. Check out some of the biggest moves this week.

AANA appoints Mehra Jehangir director, member engagement and events

The Australian Association of National Advertisers (AANA) has appointed Mehra Jehangir as director, member engagement and events. Jehangir most recently served as vice president, business development at Gerson Lehrman Group (GLG) where she managed clients from fast moving consumer goods (FMCG), retail, technology and other industries.

Havas taps VML for a CEO to run its CX network

Havas has appointed VML's David Shulman CEO of its global CX network. Shulman becomes the customer experience network’s inaugural chief executive, leading more than 1,800 people. His resume includes CEO of Omnicom Group’s Organic, president at Wunderman and most recently chief experience officer for VML.

TBWA\Media Arts Lab appoints Stuart Alexander group creative director for Australia

TBWA\Media Arts Lab, Apple's bespoke creative agency, has appointed Stuart Alexander group creative director for Australia. In this newly created role, Alexander will report directly to Brent Anderson, chief creative officer of TBWA\Media Arts Lab, and work in close partnership with general manager Jake Donaghey.

LinkedIn's Prue Cox to lead data, solutions and digital sales at oOh!media

oOh!media has appointed digital marketing and technology executive, Prue Cox, into the newly created group director - data, solutions and digital sales role. Cox will execute client acquisition, retention, development and market expansion. She will help transform the way oOh! sells, including a greater emphasis on programmatic, and data led planning and reporting, aligned with its strategy to lead the out of home industry to a digital first future.

Tory Maguire appointed Nine's MD of publishing

Nine has appointed Tory Maguire managing director - publishing, assuming responsibility for assets including metro mastheads and The Australian Financial Review. Maguire has been overseeing The Sydney Morning Herald, The Age, Brisbane Times and WAToday since being appointed executive editor in July 2021. A process is underway to appoint a new executive editor.

Dane Robertson returns to The Brag Media

Dane Robertson has returned to The Brag Media in the newly-created role of head of client and event partnerships in Australia and New Zealand. Denise Barnes has also joined as client projects director and Anan Salvarinas as senior creative strategist. Robertson’s return to The Brag Media follows a stint at Pedestrian Group. 

Ogilvy’s Ryan O’Connell leaves for an independent agency

Ryan O’Connell, Ogilvy Sydney’s chief strategy officer, has resigned and is leaving the business this month after more than 11 years. It’s understood an announcement will be made soon on O’Connell’s next move and that it’s to head up a new independent agency. Ogilvy is currently evaluating its strategic resources and will make an announcement about the senior structure of the strategy team in due course. 

Wunderman Thompson's Phillip Brook joins The Media Store

Independent media agency The Media Store has appointed Phillip Brook financial controller. Brook joins with 35 years’ experience in media, creative and technology businesses, most recently in Asia as commercial director at Wunderman Thompson and prior to that chief financial officer at OMG Singapore.

Moonlighting’s Ian Warner joins Audience Group

Ian Warner has joined independent advertising services agency Audience Group as group account director. Warner brings four decades of media strategy, with the last ten years as co-owner of an independent media agency 

Melissa Lee joins creative production studio VANDAL

VANDAL, a media-independent, creative production studio, has hired Melissa Lee as executive producer. She most recently served as executive producer for Spinifex Group. Lee said: "I'm excited to contribute to a team that shares my passion for creative excellence and stunning experiences supported by innovative technology and powerful, authentic storytelling."
