Carlton & United Breweries (CUB) has extended its relationship with MediaCom for another year, quashing rumours the brewer was looking to review its media account.

The extension builds on MediaCom's long-term relationship with CUB, which is more than 20 years old. It is the second key client MediaCom has retained in the past week after News Corp handed full media duties to GroupM agency ahead of UM.

“As consumer needs become more sophisticated, Carlton & United Breweries look to their agency partnerships as well as their own internal experts to step up to the next level to ensure we more effectively connect our brands with consumers,” CUB VP of marketing Richard Oppy said.

Brett Elliott, general manager of MediaCom Melbourne, added: “We are happy to once again be extending what has been a long standing and successful relationship with Carlton & United Breweries. We look forward to continuing to develop innovative solutions for some of the best brands in the country and build upon our long history of great work with an offering that suits Carlton & United Breweries evolving needs.”
