It's the time of the year when we are knee-deep in Christmas events, and it feels as though most of the industry's Christmas parties are concentrated into this week alone.

It seemed an appropriate time to look at this UK report which found that media and marketing professionals are, surprisingly, some of the least likely to hook up and fool around with colleagues at their Christmas party.

The industry comes in sixth on the list of 10 professions compiled by British lingerie and sex toy retailer Ann Summers (not to be confused with Australian feminist author Anne Summers). Sales come in seventh. Surprising, but maybe it's because everyone is doing it the rest of the year anyway.

The professions most likely to be getting it on at the party? IT, legal and HR.

Overall, 39% of the Brits surveyed admitted to having sex at the Christmas party

And the venue for this festive frolicking? The car park. Obviously. Followed by the boardroom for those with a classier moment in mind.

If you think it's those juniors getting up to all sorts, then think again. The report found that it's senior staff more likely to be getting frisky with 65% of senior mangers admitting to having sex at the party compared with 26% of juniors.
