Earlier this year Hahn called on everyday Australians to get together and do what its founders did, come up with ideas that no one else has before.

In Hahn's case it was four friends sitting around with a few beers discussing how they could do it better, they came up with Hahn, and to continue that spirit the brand has announced the 10 finalists in its innovation program.

Hahn launched JumpStart in August, with the brand putting up $20,000 dollars and mentorship to get ideas up and running.

The ideas came in thick and fast and out of the 133 entries 10 were chosen and not all of them feature beer.

One of the 10 groups which have been selected as finalists are two friends from Melbourne who came up with the unique idea for ‘Leeway Runners’ – an online platform that allows people to create a personally designed and perfectly fitted, customised running shoe. The idea allows consumers to simply scan the shape of their foot, design the shoe and it will be delivered to their door.

Another team from Sydney entered the idea for ‘Bindle’ – a mobile app for travellers that offers a “meet up” platform and travel guide.  Bindle allows users to find new friends wherever they are and access advice from adventurers who have 'been there, done that'.

One idea that does feature beer is The Magnetic Beerend. The Magnetic Beerend is like a bookend for your beer. Saving beers from rolling around on the fridge shelves, The Magnetic Beer-End allows people to stack beers in a small space in the fridge.

You can view all the finalists here and from Monday you can vote for your favorite and they could take home $5000 dollars and some extra mentoring sessions just for being named people's choice.

The winner of the people’s choice award will be announced along with the major prize winner and runner up at the conclusion of the Judging Experience on 3 December.

One of Australia’s top young entrepreneurs and JumpStart ambassador Jack Delosa will head up the judging panel, along with representatives from Hahn.

Delosa said: “We received some really innovative ideas– it’s certainly going to be a very difficult decision to choose a winner.”

“Hahn JumpStart is such a unique opportunity for budding young entrepreneurs, as it not only provides financial support, but also the resource to get a great idea of the ground – I can’t wait for the next stage of this program and to see which ideas are chosen.”
