Carat NSW managing director, Hiranthi ‘Harry’ Jayaweera, is set to finish up with the agency at the end of the year, relocating her family to Brisbane for personal reasons.

Jayaweera joined Carat NSW in 2023, bringing more than 20 years’ experience across media agencies and media owners.

Her role focused on sharpening the agency’s strength in building media-led experiences designed around real consumer behaviour.

Jayaweera said the decision to leave was not made lightly.

“I’ve been incredibly fortunate to work alongside such a talented and supportive team, not just as part of Carat NSW but the broader dentsu business across ANZ,” she said.

“There's something truly special about this place and I'm so proud of the momentum we've achieved.

“While it's a bittersweet decision to move on, I leave with a mix of gratitude and excitement for my next step.”

Rob Harvey, CEO of dentsu ANZ, confirmed her exit and praised her impact on the business.

“Harry has made the decision to relocate with her family to Brisbane and will be finishing up with us at the end of the year,” Harvey said.

“She has played a key role in strengthening our Carat proposition in the NSW market since joining us in 2023, and we're grateful for the passion, energy and commitment she's brought to the team and our clients.

“She will continue to work with me over the coming months as we finalise the future structure of our Carat NSW business. We wish her nothing but success and happiness in this next chapter.”

Jayaweera will remain with the business until the end of 2025.

A search for her replacement is yet to be launched..

Jayaweera’s departure is unrelated to the upcoming exit of dentsu’s chief executive officer, client, media and commercial, Fiona Johnston, who was made redundant earlier this week and will finish at the company on October 17.
