Gold Lion for Ogilvy Australia

Ogilvy Australia won a Gold Lions at Cannes in the forth day of the festival.

The agency won for AAMI Rest Towns, a road safety initiative turning rural towns into rest stops.

David Ponce de Leon, executive creative director, Ogilvy Melbourne office: “We are all ecstatic about this recognition, not only because Cannes Gold Lions are incredibly rare to win, but because it took so much effort, persistence, and collaboration to get an idea like AAMI RestTowns made.

"Many people from different companies were brought together to work on this, from Ogilvy Australia, OMD and Suncorp Group who already take care of the AAMI brand to Spotify who’s been a great tech partner in its delivery.

"It takes a village, and, in this case, it took a whole RestTown! But the most satisfying feeling of all, is to be able to bring AAMI’s commitment to road safety to life in such an innovative way.

"Given the impact the last couple of years had on local Aussie businesses, for young people to stop and rest in some of these rural towns on their road trips was a great way to support them while at the same time, avoiding driver fatigue.”
