Clemenger BBDO is transitioning away from having a standalone media department with work being taken up by the broader Omnicom Media group, the agency has confirmed.
Chief media officer Stuart Bailey moved to Clemenger from PHD just over a year ago. He is still listed in his role but up to 50 staff are reported to be impacted..
The Samsung media account went to Publicis Groupe from last month. Incumbent Clemenger announced in May it was dropping out from the pitch.
Omnicom Oceania said the change at Clemenger relates specifically to the standalone media department.
“While Clemenger BBDO is transitioning away from having a standalone media department, the business continues to provide specialist media expertise and remains closely connected to Omnicom Oceania’s broader media capabilities,” said a spokesperson from Omnicom Oceania.
“We will continue to give our clients unrivalled access to integrated solutions across creative, media, data and customer experience.”
