Bauer Media is launching a new print monthly, It’s Your Day, as an extension to the weekly Women’s Day publication.
The 108-page glossy magazine centres around “light-hearted and informative” content, including real-life stories, food, wellbeing, fashion and finance.
The launch comes after Fiona Connolly, associate publisher and editor-in-chief of Woman’s Day, travelled to metro and regional Australia to test the demand for the magazine.
“We visited different areas of the country, including rural areas, to ensure It’s Your Day has something for everyone,” Connolly says.
“I met with women from vastly different walks of life, but what connected them all was a deep love for magazines. They love the much-needed “me-time” that magazines offer. They want easy reads with content that makes them ‘feel good’.
It’s Your Day is backed by a half a million dollar print, TV and digital campaign by Bauer Media, with the first issue available 13 June for $5.99.
The launch of a new print title pushes against the tide of closing print publications, with magazines such as Cosmopolitan recently shutting.
It comes following News Corps’ decision to also launch a new gloss magazine, Agjournal, which will run every quarter.
