APN Outdoor reveals Young Lions finalists

By AdNews | 4 May 2018

Young guns from Bohemia, PHD, DDB, Blue449, Cummins&Partners and more have been revealed by APN Outdoor, official Cannes Lions Festival of Creativity representative in Australia, as the finalists for the 2018 Young Lions competition.

Teams of two were required to respond to a brief in one of three categories: Media, Digital and Marketing. From nearly 200 submissions, a carefully-selected group of more than 65 senior industry members narrowed the shortlist to just three teams in each category.

“We were blown away by the level of talent that entered this year’s Young Lions competition," APN Outdoor GM of marketing Charlotte Valente says.

“It’s a testament to the Australian marketing, media and creative industries to see this calibre of work being produced by the talent rising through the ranks. We are honoured to provide them with a platform to express their craft and offer an opportunity to represent their country on a global stage. We wish all finalists the best of luck in the next round later this month."

The shortlisted teams are due to compete in the second round of the local Young Lions competition on 22 May, in which they have just 24 hours to form their response before pitching to a panel of judges at the Sydney Opera House on 23 May.

The winners of the second and final round will be announced that evening, with the winners of each category going on to represent Australia at the 65th Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity from 18 to 22 June, 2018.

APN Outdoor took over from News Corp to become the official Cannes Lions Festival of Creativity representative in Australia this year.
