ACP Magazines has rejoined the Magazine Publishers of Australia (MPA) 15 months after it withdrew from the industry body.
It was widely perceived that ACP left the industry's peak body last year following the MPA's decision to support The Newspaper Works' tender for a new readership measurement system. The MPA later pulled out of the readership process.
ACP was unavailable for comment at the time of writing.
Phil Scott, the newly appointed managing director of ACP, said in a statement just two hours after being appointed to the role: “There is a great story to tell on the vibrancy of the magazine business and I believe ACP can and should bring its considerable resources to bear, helping the MPA to tell that story.”
Chairman of the MPA, Nick Chan, said: “We are thrilled to have ACP Magazines back in the MPA and we look forward to working with all the member publishers on new initiatives to promote magazines. Now more than ever, the value of engaged consumers willing to purchase their favourite magazines needs to be communicated.”
