Don’t let backyard cricket start a family feud this Australia Day, book an UberUmpire to weigh in on the rules.

In a campaign from Optus and Uber, Billy Bowden is offering up his and other umpires services this Australia Day to deliver a book of backyard cricket rules and their expertise.

The international cricket umpire stars in 14-videos being pushed across social channels. There are three longer videos, and then several short clips that show Bowden pulling off some of his eccentric hand moves.

In another clip Bowden is training a group of umpires and says: “It’s going to be tough out there. There are going to be arguments, there’s going to be family disputes. There’s going to be crazy dogs falling in love with your leg. But I have faith in you. I believe in you.”

Uber users can try and order an umpire to come to their backyard test by selecting the UberUmpire option in the app between 11am-3pm in Sydney, Melbourne, Perth, Brisbane, Canberra and Adelaide.

Uber has a history of delivering the goods. Remember #UberKittens, when they dropped off fluffy friends for customers?
