Volkswagen promises sophisticated design, German engineering and a bargain to boot in its latest campaign “A Volkswagen is better value than you may think.”

The campaign, created by DDB Sydney, shows a couple keen on homebuying browsing an uncomfortably compact and dated home only to be given the worst news – it's still unaffordable.

Volkswagen is hoping to appeal to would-be homeowners' sense of humour with the strapline: “Finally, something that costs less than it should.”
