The Streets of Barangaroo launches a love letter to Sydney.

The Sydney isn’t Sydney without you campaign launches 6pm on September 30, preparing for a new beginning after lockdown.

The multi-part series starts with a powerful, 60-second film capturing both the beauty and sadness of Sydney’s CBD, which has lay dormant for months. Lendlease worked with Sydney-based dancer and choreographer, Christopher Jhureea, who played the role of Sydney’s beating heart. The movements and background depict a new dawn breaking.

The videos will be featured across a digital media campaign. Lendlease worked directly with the artists and creative agencies to bring the cultural art project to life and continue to support the arts industry that has been impacted by COVID-19.

The Streets of Barangaroo and Darling Square retail marketing manager Jacqui Stanton says Lendlease collaborated with local visionaries.

“It has been a privilege to collaborate with local artistic visionaries including Christopher Jhureea, Billy Zammit, Animal Feelings and Authority Creative who have so brilliantly told this story of hope, beauty and pride for our iconic city to life,” said Stanton.

Director Billy Zammit has an affinity for urban landscapes and drama-rich narrative. The video embodies the beating heart of the city via Christopher Jhureea’s artistry in contemporary dance, the iconic skyline and the emotional longing caused by the current pandemic.

Over the coming months, Lendlease will release further videos in the A Love Letter to Sydney series, continuing the story of Sydney’s beating heart coming back to life.
