Zero emissions by 2040.

City of Hobart is celebrating the people, projects and everyday actions helping build a more climate ready city in a campaign via Showpony.

From restoring local habitats and greening neighbourhoods to creating healthier buildings and reducing emissions, the campaign showcases the individuals, businesses and community groups already making a difference, while encouraging more Hobartians to be part of the city's climate ready future.

Showpony creative director, Nic Maumill, said the creative challenge was to tell a different kind of climate story.

"We wanted to move away from the usual climate messaging," said Maumill.

"People have heard the problem. What they needed to see was that progress was already happening.

"By telling real stories from across Hobart, the campaign shows that climate action isn't something abstract or out of reach, it's already part of our community. We hope people see themselves in those stories and feel inspired to add their own."

With a goal of zero emissions by 2040, Hobart leads the nation in its strategy and response to the climate and biodiversity emergency.

The integrated campaign spans film, digital, social media, outdoor and community engagement.

City of Hobart climate futures lead, Jessica Robbins, said the campaign was inspired by the positive momentum already building across Hobart.

"When I look around Hobart, I don't just see the challenges of climate change, I see people already making a difference," said Robbins.

"I see communities coming together, people restoring our natural environment and businesses finding better ways to do things. Climate Ready Hobart is about celebrating that momentum and inviting more people to be part of it."
