Telstra will tonight launch a series of TV ads shot in Tokyo as part of the "Sushi Plane" campaign, a marketing push designed to engage with youth consumers.

The Telstra "Sushi Plane" campaign started life as Facebook competition earlier this year. 14 winners were flown to Tokyo in August where they were followed by a TV crew. The crew captured a series of challenges undertaken by the contestants.

The footage was used to formulate three TVCs and a series of webisodes.

Sushi Plane is the latest part of Telstra's line-up of promotional activities aimed at the youth market, proceeded by Free Run, Cabbie-Oke and Partycatchers.
