Another day, another list. It's the fourth instalment in our best magazine ads of all time. To get you inspired for the Glossy Awards, we're asking top creatives to share their picks.

Download the entry kit at GlossyAwards.com. Categories range from Automotive, FMCG and Fashion to Most Innovative Use of a Magazine. Entries close 23 July.

M&C Saatchi has won the Grand Prix two years in a row – in 2011 for Steggles 'No Cages' and in 2012 for Miroslav 'Quality Best Appreciated Up Close'.

You've heard from M&C Saatchi's Ben Welsh, Droga5's Duncan Marshall and Morris & Partners' David Morris. Now it's back to M&C Saatchi and regional creative director Tom McFarlane:

This nice little brief led to a pleasant few hours on a recent Sunday afternoon tripping down memory lane. Interestingly, the best work was either heavily led by copy or overtly visual.

1. Of the former, the very famous Chivas Regal Father’s Day ad must take line honours. Beautifully written with every word coming straight from the author's heart.

2. My other copy-led favourite is for the Health Education Council of Britain. Again no headline. The copy is the headline. And a very provocative one given it’s peppered by words like ‘excrement’ and ‘vomit’.

3. Shifting to the overtly visual, there is no greater example than Silk Cut. Could any magazine advertisement have engendered more envy? It’s surely close to perfection.

4. As is the Apple iPod launch work.

5. Of course sometimes art and copy do collide, beautifully. There is no better example than this magazine ad for the Metropolitan Police.
