Follow the money: Mindshare names Clay Gill head of owned and earned

Mindshare has named Clay Gill as the head of its owned and earned media division.

The agency restructured its internal teams around paid, owned and earned last year in a bid to de-silo.

Gill will oversee the combined owned and earned team which includes specialists in SEO, social, content, activation and sport. Mindshare claims 60% of clients will increase spend in earned and owned media this year.

Sharb Farjami, Mindshare COO said: “We were looking for someone who had a strong point of view on how the owned and earned channels could drive growth for our clients’ business. The thought leadership that Clay has driven in this area made him the perfect choice."

Gill said: “Mindshare has all the elements ready to create big ideas." It was all about maximum asset value, he said,"not just earned media impressions."
