SYDNEY: Last night’s finale of The Biggest Loser (Thursday 27 April) attracted 2.31 million viewers, overwhelmingly winning its timeslot in all major demographics.
Its performance boosted Network Ten’s share of viewing between 7.32pm and 9.47pm to 55.1% of all viewers, and 64.7% of Ten’s key demographic of 16 to 39-year-olds. The audience peaked at 3.19 million at 9.42pm.
Seven’s hit series Lost, in the 8.30pm to 9.30pm timeslot, attracted 1.14 million viewers.
“The Biggest Loser has been a ratings winner right from the word go. It’s a fantastic example of how well an international format can be tailored for the local market,” Ten GM network programming David Mott said in a statement.
The launch of Big Brother on Sunday (23 April), also on Ten, attracted a total audience of 1.8 million with a peak at 2.08 million viewers.
