Big Brother shuffles off mortal coil
SYDNEY: The final episode of Big Brother aired on Network Ten last night (21 July), with Big Brother Winner Announced scoring 1.427 million total viewers and Big Brother Finale Night 1.254 million. The two programs scored 1.90 million viewers and 1.42 million respectively in 2007. Monday night was dominated by Seven, which had six of the top 10 rating programs, including the first five shows.

Cadbury Schweppes cuts ties with Red Bull
MELBOURNE: Cadbury Schweppes has confirmed it will not renew its distribution agreement with Red Bull when it expires on 31 December, 2008. David Beguely, managing director of beverages at Cadbury Schweppes, said the association with the brand has been beneficial and that Cadbury Schweppes helped Red Bull gain a foothold in the Australian market. Beguely said the company will continue to be the number one supplier of non-cola carbonated beverages to the Australian market. The company will focus on growing its stable of brands, including Schweppes, Solo, Sunkist, Cottee's, Spring Valley and Cool Ridge.

Loop Mobile appoints new CEO
SYDNEY: Loop Mobile has promoted founder Ian Rodwell to CEO & managing director effective 1 August. Rodwell replaces Martin Hoffman, who has resigned to focus on his other new media and technology investments. Hoffman will continue his involvement with Loop as a non-executive director. Rodwell established Loop Mobile in 2004. The company today also outlined details of a rights issue to raise up to $1.5 million.

carsguide sponsors radio show
SYDNEY: Automotive website carsguide.com.au has become the new national sponsor of Behind the Wheel, a motoring segment broadcast daily on more than 40 radio stations across Australia. Carsguide.com.au editor Karla Pincott said the sponsorship and editorial integration would help raise the profile of carsguide.com.au in regional Australia.
