Idol packs punch

By AdNews | 10 August 2007
The launch episode of Network Ten’s fifth season of Australian Idol raked in 1.65 million viewers on 5 August – 272,000 more than last year’s launch episode for season four. It’s a promising start for Idol following sluggish ratings for this year’s series of Big Brother (also on Ten Network), which suffered a dip in year-on-year ratings of up to 15% throughout the season. This year’s Idol sponsors include Cadbury Schweppes, Procter & Gamble, McDonald’s and Mazda.
