YouTube has compiled a list of all the top trending videos watched on the platform this year.
James Cordon's Carpool Kareoke series was the number one hit for Aussies in 2016, winning four spots in the top ten trending videos, alongside JLo, Adele, Sia and Michelle Obama.
The only Australian video to make the cut was from Triple J.
Noticeably absent from the videos were clips from YouTube influencers and everyday Australians, with the list preferencing videos with high production values.
To celebrate the year, YouTube recruited 200 stars from the channel to pay homeage to the biggest videos, memes, channels, songs, and pop culture moments of the year. Watch it below:
