In this series, AdNews spotlights young talent in the Australian media, marketing and advertising sector. This time it's Resolution Digital account manager Bridget Moore.
Time in current role/time at the company.
I joined Resolution Digital as an account manager last year and have been with the company for just over six months now. Throughout my typical day, I am responsible for client and campaign management as well as media planning and strategy.
How long have you been in the industry?
I’ve been in the industry for three and a half years, and it’s been an exciting and fast-paced journey. I began my career in 2021 as a Media Assistant at OMD, where I had the privilege of working with talented teams and gained valuable experience working on the Michael Hill account. During this time, I developed a strong interest in digital media and retail clients, which ultimately led me to my current position at Resolution Digital, where I work across the David Jones account.
How did you get here? Was this always the plan?
I studied a Bachelor of Business at QUT, majoring in advertising. During my second year, I took a media planning and buying unit and instantly knew this was the path I wanted to pursue as it played more to my strengths - especially after doing an advertising copywriting unit that really wasn’t my thing. After graduating, I decided to take some time off to travel, and once I returned, I was eager to kickstart my career. A position opened up at OMD, and the rest is history!
Who is your right-hand person/who guides you day to day?
I’ve been fortunate to work with some amazing mentors and colleagues throughout my career, but my current right-hand person is my account director, Brittany O’Brien Smith. Britt is an industry veteran with a wealth of experience, having worked across a wide range of clients in both planning and activation roles. When I stepped into my current role, I knew it was an opportunity to push myself and grow, and she has been incredibly supportive in helping me expand my skill set and take on new challenges and responsibilities.
What’s the best thing about the industry you work in?
The best thing about working in this industry is the dynamic agency environment. No two days are ever the same, and there's always something exciting to look forward to. The workplace culture is truly unmatched, and I love the opportunity to meet so many interesting people—from colleagues in the agency to the media publishers we collaborate with.
And the biggest challenge?
I’m sure many people in the industry would agree, but I think the best thing about it is the ever-evolving media landscape. What we knew last year may not always be relevant the next, and this constant change drives fresh, innovative ideas. I believe it’s important to set aside time in your day to read industry publications and connect with people outside your immediate team to gain new perspectives.
My best piece of advice for someone starting their career in media is to be confident, step outside your comfort zone and get involved in agency or industry competitions. You’ll learn so much along the way!
Whose job have you set your sights on in the future?
I wouldn’t say I have my sights set on anyone’s role. I’m still really enjoying my time working in an agency and am excited to continue growing in my current position and progressing my career.
Where do you turn for inspiration?
Sometimes the best way to find inspiration is to step away and switch off. If I’m ever stuck on something, I like to revisit it after a few days with a fresh mindset. I often find that the answer comes when I'm not actively thinking about it. That said, I also find it valuable to bounce ideas off different people in the company as well.
Tell us one thing people at work don’t know about you.
I don’t keep a lot of secrets but I guess for people who don’t know me well, I’m a huge fan of op-shopping. I spend most weekends on the hunt for something interesting and unique and love a good bargain.
In five years time I'll be…
Embracing any new opportunities that come my way!
