Tracey Chamoun: Media planner/buyer, Frontier Australia

Time at the company:
I have been at Frontier for just over a year.

How long have you been in the industry?
Two years.

How did you get here? Was this always the plan?
I had always had an interest in media, but never quite understood how complex the industry is! After studying Business & media at uni, I wasn’t certain on what I wanted to do so ended up landing in Recruitment. That industry taught me a lot of skills that assist me in my role now, but I knew it wasn’t quite what I wanted to do. I decided to take a 2-month marketing internship in Toronto Canada, before then starting my first media role in Sydney.

Who is your right-hand person/who guides you day to day?
I’m lucky enough to have some great friends & coworkers at Frontier. My team Anna & Dom are my right-hand gals – we work through obstacles together and they always make me feel supported.

What’s the best thing about the industry you work in?
Whether it’s a new publisher, platform, or client – I learn something new every day. I enjoy the fast-paced nature and getting to communicate with so many different people who work across all the different facets of media.

And the biggest challenge?
The best and worst work hand in hand! The industry is ever changing, and it’s important you evolve with it to help clients achieve their goals.

Where do you see yourself in 5 years?
I see myself continuing to grow & learn about the industry, eventually moving into a position of leadership. Personal growth is also so important, I hope to have travelled to many more places around the world.

Where do you turn for inspiration?
If you’re open to receiving it, there really is inspiration everywhere. I’m surrounded with such ambitious & knowledgeable people inside and outside the industry, they inspire me all the time.

My favourite advert is: 
The Apple Music artist collaborations always make me laugh – especially the Drake one!

Tell us one thing people at work don’t know about you?
If you know me, you probably know everything about me!

Whose job have you set your sights on in the future
It’s difficult to pinpoint one particular job, however I really admire our Commercial Director & Head of Strategy and how educated he is about the industry. I hope to be that confident in my knowledge in the future, in a position to inspire others.
