Our Young Gun profile takes a look at some of the young talent across the advertising, adtech, marketing and media sector in Australia. It aims to shed light on the varying roles, people and companies across the buzzing industry.
Today we speak to LinkedIn senior client solutions manager, enterprise tech Sarah Raleigh.
Time in current role:
Just over one and a half years.
How long have you been in the industry?
Five and a half years.
How did you get here? Was this always the plan?
My career started in a specialised B2B agency working with enterprise tech clients in Australia. From there, circumstances took me on a fortunate adventure to Japan where I continued to work with the same agency and client. After returning home, I was seeking a new challenge and had my sights set on LinkedIn as a natural B2B fit and great development opportunity. Aspects of the journey so far were planned, but some were also just going with the flow and grasping the opportunities when they arose.
Who guides you day to day?
My account director and tech guru, Jo Woods, but also an army of amazing colleagues, inspirational leaders, and close friends. If I had to call out one however, it would be my fiancé Sam, who supports and challenges me every day to be the best version of myself.
What’s the best thing about the industry you work in?
The range of extraordinary people you get to meet and collaborate with along the way. From a tech perspective, the dynamic pulse or pace of new products, features and developments that are changing the way we live and interact with each other and brands. There is, and always will be, something new to learn.
And the biggest challenge?
Double edged sword! Trying to stay on top of the breadth of innovation across the industry.
Whose job have you set your sights on in the future?
They’ll most likely be reading this so…theirs!
Where do you turn for inspiration?
World Economic Forum, follow them on LinkedIn! They have the best short, inspirational videos of amazing ideas and innovations happening around the world.
My favourite advert is:
I can’t go past Bonds The Boys campaign. Hilariously managed to communicate the benefits of underpants through personification and supported with a very clever OOH installation associated to the changing weather/temperature in Melbourne. Simple, effective, creative and entertaining.
Tell us one thing people at work don’t know about you?
I am an open book, so would be surprised to find anything here.
In five years' time I'll be:
Still learning and growing, hopefully by then supporting or leading others to do the same.
