Julie Vu: Client Partner at Amobee

Time in current role/time at the company:
3.5 years

How long have you been in the industry?
9 years

How did you get here? Was this always the plan?
I began my career at a marketing agency and then at a university, working within their marketing department as a Communications Officer.

Fast forward a couple of years, I did a bit of travelling and was offered an opportunity within digital programmatic in London. The advancement in the industry overseas particularly interested me to continue pursuing this path, and when I returned to Australia, I landed a role in Client Services at Amobee.

Who is your right hand person/who guides you day to day?
Within my digital programmatic career, I wouldn’t be able to attribute it to just one person. I am lucky enough to work with a team of amazing, digital marketing experts within sales, client services and operations at Amobee who are always driving new innovative campaigns and solutions for our clients.

What’s the best thing about the industry you work in?
The people – the wide range of people you meet with new ideas and solutions to solve everyday problems for our clients is inspiring.

And the biggest challenge?
Keeping up with all the latest technology, solutions and acronyms out there! It can be easy to fall behind.

Whose job have you set your sights on in the future?
Someone along the lines of big boss lady.

Where do you turn for inspiration?
My family, friends, the world and the world wide web!

My favourite advert is:
Currently the latest Airbnb advert. It’s simple and engaging for the full 30 seconds!

Tell us one thing people at work don’t know about you?
I’ve travelled to over 20 countries (including a few solo trips) which include places like New York, Reykjavík in Iceland and Valencia in Spain!

In five years' time I'll be:
Continuing to navigate the world of digital programmatic solutions and hopefully also dabbling in my own small business, whatever this may be – Probably within the world of food or health and fitness!
