WPP Media has won the Suncorp media account, developing a new bespoke agency model called Open Era to service the insurer’s broad portfolio of brands.
The appointment is effective March 1 and follows a competitive pitch process.
Maria Grivas will lead the account, tasked with bringing together strategists, technologists and client leads from across WPP Media to support Suncorp’s group of brands, which includes AAMI, Apia, Bingle, CIL Insurance, GIO, Essentials by AAI, Shannons, Suncorp Insurance and Terri Scheer.
Suncorp’s executive general manager, brand and customer experience, Mim Haysom, said the group was looking forward to working with WPP Media and thanked incumbent agency, OMD.

WPP Media says the Open Era model will use the full scope of its capabilities, including the WPP Open AI platform and integrated strategic expertise, aimed at delivering growth in a shifting media environment.
