Woolworths has shortlisted four media agencies for its mammoth $166 million media account, with a decision expected within weeks.

Incumbent of nine years Mitchell & Partners will defend the business against MediaCom, Ikon Communications and OMD.

Agencies were approached to pitch by Woolworths and asked to turnaround a pitch presentation to present to Woolworths executives within a week and a half.

Woolworths is consolidating media duties for a raft of brands into one account, with Dan Murphy's, BWS and Dick Smith all part of the review.
