Out-of-home infrastructure player Wildstone, based in the UK and Europe, has acquired nine billboards across six structures in Melbourne from High Street Media, taking its total to 44 static and 27 digital in Australia.
The assets include three double-sided digital and static structures and three single-sided digital screens located along prime visibility spots including the South Gippsland, Frankston, Princess Freeways, and Metropolitan and Western Ring Roads.
Commercial details of the acquisition have not been revealed.
oOh!media manages five of the sites, with Civic Outdoor taking over the sixth.
“I was very happy with the way this transaction progressed with Wildstone, which handled every aspect of the deal expertly from start to finish. I'm proud of what we've achieved with these sites and believe they will continue to thrive under Wildstone’s ownership,” said Jonathon Kouvelis, the director of High Street Media.
The managing director of Wildstone Australia Noel Cook said the acquisition continues to accelerate its expansion into the Australian market since entering last year.
“We’re pleased to have completed another strategic transaction in Victoria as we continue to grow our footprint across the country,” said Cook.
“Reaching 71 billboard assets in just over a year reflects the strength of our approach and the response from billboard owners and landlords looking for long-term value. We remain focused on further acquisitions in both metropolitan and regional markets,” she said.
Wildstone in March this year has acquired Total Outdoor Media’s (TOM) full portfolio of regional billboards, positioning it as one of Victoria's largest outdoor media asset owners..
