Wavemaker Melbourne adds DoorDash in Australia

Wavemaker Melbourne has won the main media account for San Francisco-based tech startup DoorDash as it expands its delivery business in Australia.

The GroupM agency will handle media strategy, planning and buying.

DoorDash, a logistics platform for local communities and restaurants, grocery, convenience, alcohol and retail outlets, has partnered with Australian businesses including IGA, The Reject Shop, PETStock, Hairhouse Warehouse and Tipple. More are expected  to be announced in 2021.

The account will be led by Wavemaker Melbourne's group business director Liz Smart.

Wavemaker Melbourne has won a number of significant accounts in the past 18 months including Australia Post, Mondelez and Honda MPE. Nationally Wavemaker has added further accounts including Airbnb, Netflix, Network 10, Mutti, Perrgio and MGA Entertainment.
