As featured in AdNews magazine, Watchdog is that mighty defender of consumers against BS marketing and advertising claims.

Motorola recently hyped up the re-release of its Moto Razr, a flip–phone that was popular before the iPhone was invented. But is the model ever going to hit our shelves or ears or was the ad just a clever marketing ploy?

AdNews: Hello, moto. I saw an ad for the re-release of the Moto Razr phone – where can I buy it?

Motorola: Ah, it is not available right now.

AdNews: When will it be available? The ad said it would be available tomorrow.

Morotola: It is not available right now in Australia.

AdNews: What about the US?

Motorola: We don’t have an update.

AdNews: So it’s not available? Will it ever be available?

Motorola: Ah no.

AdNews: Isn’t that false advertising?

Motorola: We don’t have information on that.

Final Reckoning

This Watchdog couldn’t wait to get its paws on that phone, so imagine the disappointment when reports denied the return of the iconic Motor Razr. Millennials and emos everywhere will be crying over the news the ad is just a clever marketing ploy to breathe life into the Motorola brand.
