Melbourne-based independent PMG has won a competitive pitch for the media account at Vocus, a telco with brands  including Dodo & iPrimus.

PMG, founded by Chris Nolan and Di Richardson, takes over from PHD Melbourne which won the account in 2018 after working with the brand on a project basis.

AdNews in March revealed the pitch for the account estimated to be worth $15 million.

“We were incredibly impressed with the offering and insights presented by PMG through the process,” said Tony Timpanaro, GM – marketing (consumer) at Vocus.

“They stood out with their sharp thinking, data-driven approach and understanding of our brands as well as the rapidly evolving Australian media landscape.

“We also felt a great connection with the PMG team and their ethos. As fellow challengers in their industry, we look forward to working with them over the coming years to continue growing the Dodo and iPrimus brands.”

Peter Toone, PMG’s managing director, said the agency felt a very natural alignment from the first meeting.

“We have a clear goal for our clients: to outgrow their competition,” said Toone.

“We do this through a combination of deep client business knowledge and the codification of full funnel performance.

“This is a dynamic category with a very talented marketing team and we are delighted to be partnering with them moving forward.”

PMG’s client list includes major brands such as Sportsbet, Bob Jane T-Marts, Swisse, Swinburne University, KenoGo, Don Smallgoods, Gordon Legal, Cobs, Green’s, Yumi’s, Netball Australia, WTFN, Hampers with Bite and Marketplacer.

The independent media agency has some $180 million in billings.
