Sam Staples
Outdoor media player VMO has appointed Sam Staples to the newly created position of sales director, Queensland.
Staples takes on the role with more than 15 years’ experience across cinema, outdoor and digital, including two stints with VMO.
He joined VMO in 2013 as the first dedicated Queensland sales executive, credited with playing a key role in the company’s early growth in the market.
In 2018, he returned to VMO as group sales manager and was later promoted to sales manager, Queensland, in 2022.
“Sam’s contribution to the growth of VMO in Queensland has been significant,” said Geoff Cochrane, sales director of VMO, Australia and New Zealand.
“His deep market knowledge, strong relationships and long-standing connection to the business make him the ideal leader to take on this role.
“As we continue to grow our presence and unlock new opportunities in Queensland, establishing a dedicated Sales Director position reflects the strength of the business and the exciting future ahead.”
Staples said his promotion was a privilege.
“Having joined VMO as the first Sales Executive in Queensland over 10 years ago, it is a true privilege to now become the first Sales Director in the market,” he said.
“I’ve had the opportunity to witness the growth of the business over many years.
“I’m incredibly grateful for the opportunity to lead such a talented team and build on the momentum we’ve created, unlock new opportunities, strengthen our partnerships, and shape the next phase of VMO’s success in the market.”
The appointment is effective immediately.
