EXCLUSIVE: Virgin Mobile has appointed former Telstra marketer David Scribner as its top marketer, as the SingTel Optus-owned brand looks to put two years of upheaval in the marketing department behind it.

Scribner, who starts his role as marketing director on 27 April, will answer directly to chief executive Sue Bailey, who only joined last year.

Bailey said: “I am delighted that David has joined Virgin Mobile and brings with him a wealth of experience in the marketing profession.”

Scribner joins Virgin Mobile from gaming machine manufacturer Aristocrat, where he has worked since 2009. Before that, Scribner was head of mobile marketing at Telstra.

In his new role, Scribner will oversee a team of 40 staff, across the brand, product marketing, customer marketing and acquisition departments.
