VCCP has hired Mark Harricks as executive creative director for its Australian operation.

Harricks joins VCCP having previously worked at The Works, JWT, DDB and Clemenger BBDO. He also chairs AWARD and is a board member at The Communications Council.

As ECD, he will work with fellow creative lead Dean Hunt and be responsible for leading VCCP’s creative output across agency clients such as Compare the Market, Appliances Online and also ING Direct.

VCCP was appointed to the ING Direct account in December of last year following an extensive pitch process, after the bank parted ways with Droga5 in July.

VCCP managing director Peter Grenfell said: “Mark’s track record speaks for itself, he’s going to be a fantastic creative leader at VCCP. He’s also a thoroughly nice guy, which is equally important. With this team in place, this is an agency who can and will compete with the very best.”
