UnLtd, the advertising industry's social impact organisation, has announced a hiking and endurance challenge called the Big Climb, taking place in the Victorian Alps from November 25-27.
The Big Climb will see industry executives take on some of Victoria’s highest peaks to raise funds for UnLtd’s work.
The event follows on the footsteps of the 3 Peaks Challenge, organised by one of UnLtd’s charity partners.
“We’re so excited to bring this challenge back and give people across the industry a chance to do something truly special together,” said UnLtd commercial director Tiffany Damm.
“It’s beautiful, inspiring, tough and, yes, a little painful at times - but that’s what makes it so powerful.
“You come away with memories, stories and bonds with the people you climb alongside that stay with you forever.”
UnLtd has opened the Expressions of Interest for those wanting to take on the challenge.
Some of the already confirmed hikers include Jason Tonelli from Zenith, Stephanie Famolaro from The Trade Desk, Nick Behr from Kaimera, Ash Earnshaw from Nova and Sian Whitnall from OMD.
“I took part in this challenge a few years ago and it’s the best thing I’ve ever done with the industry,” said JCDecaux ANZ co-CEO Max Eburne.
“Spending time with your peers and competitors in the fresh outdoors, whilst pushing yourselves to the limits is something that will stay with me forever.
“I encourage anyone who’s up for a challenge to come along – you will not regret it!”
Participants will take on an alpine challenge across three of Victoria’s peaks – Mount Bogong, Mount Feathertop and Mount Hotham – over two days of guided hiking in the Victorian High Country.
“I’m thrilled to be taking part in the Big Climb and supporting UnLtd’s mission to create limitless opportunities for children and young people,” said Zenith Australia CEO Jason Tonelli.
“Our industry has always been at its best when it comes together for a common purpose, and this challenge is a fantastic example of that spirit.
“It will test us physically and mentally, but it’s also an opportunity to build lasting connections, create unforgettable memories, and make a genuine difference for those who need it most.”
