UnLtd, the industry's social impact organisation, has named four new charity partners as part of a strategic refresh sharpening its focus on prevention and addressing the structural drivers of inequity for children and young people.
The partners, selected in an annual application process and extensive review, are Prevention United, Polished Man, We Are Mobilise and the Women's and Girls' Emergency Centre (WAGEC).
Prevention United is Australia's only organisation solely focused on preventing mental illness, working through policy advocacy, coalition building and public awareness to shift the national conversation from treatment to prevention.
Polished Man builds community against gender-based violence by working with male role models to shift attitudes among boys and men, with its painted nail campaign designed to spark cultural change.
We Are Mobilise has built Australia's first verified platform distributing direct cash support to people at risk of homelessness.
WAGEC addresses gender-based violence across prevention, crisis response and recovery.
Jade Harley, director of impact at UnLtd, said lasting change for children and young people happened when barriers were addressed early.
"We've also learned that the media, marketing, and creative industries have a unique ability to accelerate this change by shaping awareness, influencing attitudes, driving behaviour change and elevating important issues in the national conversation," she said.
Noah Yang, CEO of We Are Mobilise, said the opportunity to access the creativity, skills and reach of the media and marketing industry meant the conversation for change could be driven across the entire country.
"Together, we can achieve far more than any of us could on our own," he said.
